Maynard Pond Association
Members of the Maynard Pond Association who reside in Coronado Village and pay annual dues are the legal property owners of Maynard Pond. These members are able to cast one vote in the affairs of the association which is a non-profit organization.
Maynard Pond is on Private Property owned by the Maynard Pond Association.
Maynard Pond was classified as a Resource and Conservation District by the Town of Cary in the 1989. The pond serves as the source of Walnut Creek, a tributary that flows eastward to the Neuse River. Because of its direct connection to the Neuse River basin, the pond and its surrounding areas are subject to strict environmental regulations aimed at protecting water quality.
Catch and release fishing is allowed in designated areas ONLY and fishing is NOT allowed along the dam. Limiting fishing to specific locations will greatly reduce erosion around many of the pond’s fragile areas and preserve the natural landscape. All fish, frogs, and turtles are catch and release. Please leave no trace as litter, fish hooks, and fishing line are hazardous to local wildlife.

Important: Anglers who enter or remain in non-designated areas after being instructed not to relocate to a designated fishing area by an owner or authorized person is a violation. Repeat violators are now being reported to Town of Cary law enforcement and may receive written warnings or fines.
Joining Maynard Pond Association supports the mission to preserve and protect the pond amidst rapid growth and development in downtown Cary. You can join or donate to the Maynard Pond Association to help us maintain natural areas, fund maintenance supplies (native plants, signage, fencing, etc.), and maintain liability insurance.
